Milk carton craft projects!

Milk carton bird house
    What you need:
  • Milk carton
  • Stapler and staples
  • Masking tape
  • A soft cloth, rag or chamois
  • Brown shoe polish
  • Scissors or a knife
  • Twine
    What you do:
  1. Open the top of the milk carton.
  2. Clean and dry the milk carton thoroughly.
  3. Staple the top of the carton shut
  4. Tear off small pieces of masking tape and cover the entire carton with the pieces of tape.
  5. Using a soft cloth, rub brown shoe polish all over the tape. This will give the carton a rough, bark-like finish.
  6. Cut a hole (with adult assistance) about 4" above the bottom of the carton. The hole should be approximately 1" to 1 1/2" in diameter. This hole is for the birds to get in and out of the house.
  7. Poke a few drainage holes in the bottom of the carton and two ventilation holes in the top of the carton.
  8. Poke a hole through the top of the feeder, string a piece of twine through the hole and hang your feeder on a tree.

    What you need:
  • Milk, juice or cream cartons (different sizes)
  • White acrylic paint, gesso or white latex house paint
  • Pencils
  • Paintbrushes
  • Tempera paint
  • Containers for water
  • A covered work area
    What you do:
  1. Cover the cartons with white acrylic, gesso or latex house paint. Let dry.
  2. Draw windows, doors etc. onto the carton.
  3. Paint the carton (using tempera paint) to look like a house.
  4. Make several houses and you have a village.
Milk carton pencil pot
    What you need:
  • Safety scissors
  • Pen & ruler
  • PVA Glue & spreader
  • Milk carton
  • Old magazines
    What you do:
  1. Mark a straight line around the milk carton slightly lower than your pen or pencil.
  2. Using safety scissors, cut along the marked line.
  3. Using the safety scissors cut out a selection of pictures that are suitable for your pen tub.
  4. Select your favorite pictures and glue to the milk carton.
  5. Brush on more PVA glue to protect your pictures.
  6. The finished pen pot!
